2011 Golden Globe Winners List and my take!
Best Motion Picture – Drama I was sort of mixed on this. I LOVED “Black Swan” but knew it wouldn’t win. I think this actually shows where our generation is at right now and it was an amazing film. I can live with it. Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama If she didn’t win I was going to start throwing things. Honestly. I would have. I cannot even say enough good things about how happy I am she won. SO GOOD. Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama I have not seen Mr. Firth’s film yet but I am sure he is divine it it. He’ll win the Oscar. Telling you now. Best Motion Picture – Comedy or Musical I almost broke my bed I jumped up so high when they won. EASILY one of my favorite movies of the year, and now ever, and it was absolutely the right choice for the film to win. I have to say, I was VERY happy with how the Globes turned out this year. SO good. SO good. Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Comedy or Musical DIVINE. This was hard though; I have a really strong love for Miss Moore who was also nominated but I think that if she didn’t take home the Globe it should have been Miss Bening and I am glad she did. They were both brilliant in this film. Unbelievable, actually. I think this was the hardest category for me though because Julianne and Annette were so damn good in this but so was Emma Stone in “Easy A” (SO Happy she came out of left field and was part of this!) and Anne Hathaway in “Love and Other Drugs.” I have to say, no one stood a chance though against Julianne or Annette. It was going to be one of them who won. But all of the ladies here did an AMAZING job. Miss Jolie, I did not see your movie and I most likely won’t until it’s on TV. I heard it was horrible and the amazing host of the evening put it wonderfully. Enough said. Sorry. Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Comedy or Musical Haven’t seen it. I was rooting for Jake to win. I have to say, he really did an amazing job in “Love and Other Drugs” and I am really happy that the Globes did not overlook him. He was fantastic and IMO should have one. Boom! Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture I have not seen “The Fighter” yet (on my list) but Melissa Leo is an amazing actress. This does not surprise me at all. I was secretly wishing Mila Kunis would win but I knew it was a long shot. Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture Miss Lauren Kelly told me how amazing he was in this. NOT a shock he won at all. Best Director – Motion Picture I was rooting for Darin for “Black Swan” but Mr Fincher did an amazing job. So, I am okay with this. Best Television Series – Drama Don’t watch it. Wanted “Dexter” to win. Sorry. Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Drama I don’t watch the show but I have seen it a few times. Katey kicks ass on it and as in my fashion post, I am having a new love for her. I am totally okay with this. Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series – Drama DEXTER!!!!!!! Best Television Series – Comedy or Musical I was VERY happy about this. If “Glee” didn’t win I wanted “Modern Family,” which, I was VERY surprised didn’t win. I have to say. But I love me some of both shows so I am happy about this. Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Comedy or Musical THANK GOD! Laura Linney is DIVINE on this show. I was beyond thrilled about this. She was so damn good this season. If she didn’t win I would have wanted Toni Collette for “Tara.” Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series – Comedy or Musical I don’t watch it but I loved his reaction and acceptance speech. His co-star gave it to him so it was adorable. Approved. Best Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television ??? Best Performance by an Actress in a Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television I’ve seen bits and pieces of it and Claire is amazing. She looked great. Brought that gorgeous husband. I approve of it all. Best Performance by an Actor in a Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television Al Pacino. Enough said. It’s all good. Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Series, Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television Again, VERY happy but VERY surprised! I thought Sofia would have gotten it for “Modern Family” but I am happy either way. Jane is amazing. Sofia is amazing. Love em’ both. Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Series, Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television Please see my post below with his acceptance speech. I still can’t stop welling up thinking about it. I rewound it like three times. EVERYONE was so happy for him. It was so touching. His table. Anne Hathaway (who is going to be in the show as her made up character!!!!) standing up for him clapping. UGH! It was all so good. He deserves it. SO happy for him! Best Screenplay Deserved but I do with it went to “The Kid’s Are All Right.” I have to say. Sorry. But both are brilliant. Best Original Song Haven’t seen the movie yet but I have this song and love it. SO happy it won. Best Original Score Please see my video post. SO happy! Best Foreign Language Film ??? Best Animated Feature I am a child of the 90’s, so, I was VERY happy about this. NO WORDS!
